Let's dive into our '1%ers'. To improve a habit, action or performance out of the blue with no clear focus on where in the area you'd like to improve is difficult and in most situations, nothing will be done. What about if we dissect the habit or performance more, breaking it down into little margins and improve each margin by 1%.
Little margins that are easily seen and also the ones that are overlooked and unexpected. Improving 1% each day for a year equals improvement of 37% at the end of the 365 days.
1% impact on any given day will seem like a minor improvement but as months go on, enormous impacts will be noticed. Unfortunately for many, results don't come quick enough so they slide back into their previous routines. But if you keep on the right track for long enough, you'll see small improvements which will re-enforce you to continue. A very small shift in direction can lead to major change in destination. In real life, a slight change in daily habits, guides life in a completely new direction.
